A NEW KIND OF EVENT
This year’s Public Health Heroes event introduces a new gala reception format, departing from the seated dinners we've had in previous years. Guests will have an extended opportunity to mingle, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and small plates, and learn informally about public health from UC Berkeley faculty, researchers, and students.
Guests will move to theater-style seating for the presentation of awards to this year’s honorees, Dr. Marcus A. Conant and Mary Robinson. After the program, guests will be able to meet and talk with the honorees at a dessert reception.
VISIONS OF A HEALTHY FUTURE:
AN EXHIBITION OF PUBLIC HEALTH RESEARCH
For the first time at the Public Health Heroes event, five research centers from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health will demonstrate their work to confront the major health challenges
of our generation. The participating centers are:
- Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry
- Berkeley Center for Health Technology
- Bixby Center for Population, Health and Sustainability
- Center for Global Public Health
- Health Research for Action
Guests will have opportunities for interaction and discussion with faculty, students, and researchers.
